Tulsa Share

Tulsa SHARE will provide educational and enrichment activities for youth, families and elderly/disabled residents of Public Housing. The aid of community partners will be enlisted to provide proactive educational, social and enrichment opportunities for these residents. Programs at each site will include tutoring, mentoring, recreational and social activities, sports activities, field trips, contests, arts and crafts programs, parenting skills, communication skills, workplace skills and empowerment classes. 18 full-time members.

AmeriCorps members may serve a term of service during a 10-12 month period. Terms of service and the education award amounts are:

Full-time 1,700 hrs. $4,725

Half-time 900 hrs. $2,362

Quarter-time 450 hrs. $1,250

Minimum-time 300 hrs. $1,000

Education awards may be used to pay off qualified student loans or may be used at any Title IV school. Members have seven years to use their education award.
