AmeriCorps members will support after-school and summer enrichment programs, provide homework assistance, enhance parental involvement, recruit volunteers and model service learning at the identified schools within the Putnam City School District.  Members will also provide services to high school students with limited English proficiency and their families.

AmeriCorps members may serve a term of service during a 10-12 month period.  After successful completion of their service, members who are enrolled on or after September 1, 2010 will receive the following education award amounts for their respective term of service:


Full-time 1,700 hrs.         $5,645

Half-time   900 hrs.          $2,822

Quarter-time 450 hrs.       $1,493

Minimum-time 300 hrs.    $1,195


Education awards may be used to pay off qualified student loans or may be used at any Title IV school.  Members have seven years to use their education award.
