 Project Transformation

Project Transformation will place a total of 55 AmeriCorps members at summer day camps for children, ages 5-12, that are located in high poverty neighborhoods. The majority of the children served live in the transitional communities where the Project Transformation sites are located. The six hour-a-day program incorporates an individual mentoring component that provides each child with a one-on-one mentor. This program is designed to provide children with the service of mentoring, while providing college-age students a service learning experience and giving a local community a model of neighborhood transformation, dynamic community resources and infused vitality.
