 Community Oriented Proactive narcotics Education and Training (COPNET)

20 half-time members will provide crucial educational and enrichment opportunities for youth, parents and school organizations throughout the State of Oklahoma by providing proactive educational opportunities.  The members recruited and trained to this mission will fill a significant void in Oklahoma’s system, while concurrently complying with statutory mandates.  Members will receive training in those skills necessary for their service assignments.  Members will be able to make classroom presentations education both students and faculty about the dangers and misconceptions of drug use and abuse in their communities.

AmeriCorps members may serve a term of service during a 10-12 month period.  Terms of service and the education award amounts are:

 

Full-time 1,700 hrs.         $4,725

Half-time   900 hrs.          $2,362

Quarter-time 450 hrs.       $1,250

Minimum-time 300 hrs.    $1,000

 

Education awards may be used to pay off qualified student loans or may be used at any Title IV school.  Members have seven years to use their education award.
